Naw, Voodoo U is correct. You are one of the idiots.

I don't find it complicated at all. It's just that the developer decided to show his a** where it can be taken away on a whim.
Honestly, it's because Reaper users are easily the most cult like. I've used it solidly for a year straight, and I quite like it, but Reaper fans cannot admit it's flaws, like the fact that it takes plenty of time to customize the interface to not look like ass. There are certain elements I never did figure out how to fix. I have plenty of friends in the graphic arts and GUI fields and not one of them has anything nice to say about Reapers interface.VOODOO U wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:44 pmIt's quite simple really. You have your morons on one end who can't even figure out how the transport works and thus assume the DAW "sucks" and then you have intelligent competent individuals on the other end who understand they have a brain that is to be utilized, thus, they do - which leads them to figure out how to make Reaper work for them.

Why would you bother when there are other DAWs that don't require that? What's the payoff for that extra effort? I look at screenshots and see something that's ugly, cluttered and doesn't make any immediate sense, whereas it took me exactly no time at all to get stuck into Studio One, it made perfect sense from the first minute I opened the application.VOODOO U wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:44 pmwhich leads them to figure out how to make Reaper work for them.
Sure but only if it's not closed for a single day of political activism, if that happens lose your mind!BBFG# wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 11:53 pm Drive through fast food mentality.
Sometimes we need to make it ourselves to make it right and better for our own personal needs.
You don't see how short-sighted that can be? I used Orion for the better part of 20 years as it suited my workflow perfectly. Moving to a new DAW opened my eyes to new possibilities that have ultimately made my workflow much better than it used to be.BBFG# wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 11:53 pmDrive through fast food mentality.

They call that the "Chick-fil-A" problem here.machinesworking wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 12:54 amSure but only if it's not closed for a single day of political activism, if that happens lose your mind!BBFG# wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 11:53 pm Drive through fast food mentality.

All DAWs require you to figure them out. Yeah sure some simpler than others but so what.
You see something that doesn't inspire you. Thats fine. To each their own.I look at screenshots and see something that's ugly, cluttered and doesn't make any immediate sense,
And? So f**king what mate. You're not makig music any better than what A.I. can spew out. Get off the f**king high horse. It took me exactly no time at all to get stuck into Studio One, it made perfect sense from the first minute I opened the application.
Sure, if you think the current US admin is great then it's a minor inconvenience. but! it's still nowhere near the level of say Jeff Amazon being Trumps whore. I don't see tens of millions of dollars funneling into BLM from a small DAW developer.
Only if you think of a business as profit driven, I'm more that willing to make fun of Reaper, but Cockos and Justin in general do not strike me as profit driven, but that in no way shape or form makes them not product driven. They're constantly updating and fixing bugs, I can't think of any other DAW that has the lists of changes they have with not a month without something.Any whim not connected to the business directly is a flag of a deeper issue though. And once revealed, should never be ignored.
You mean the one that makes you work so much harder to get a usable DAW from it? That seems somewhat paradoxical, does it not?twal wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 1:46 amThe most annoying thing on Kvr is people choosing to make things harder and expressing pride in doing such a thing. Just get the superior DAW (REAPER).
And where, prey-tell, can we hear some of the cool stuff you get done, Mr Pot?twal wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 6:34 amMy definition revolves around old folks who jerk around with old stuff (DAWS in this case) but never get anything cool done.
That's not true at all. I was able to jump from hardware into Orion without having to learn anything. Literally nothing. It combined a completely familiar studio workflow with a completely familiar and intuitive Windows interface. The learning curve was precisely zero, I was productive with it the in the first minute I started using it.VOODOO U wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 5:03 amAll DAWs require you to figure them out. Of course I am. By the time a song is rebuilt in Studio Pro it sounds way, way better than the original AI version(s) that inspire and inform it. Even putting it through Ozone makes the AI version sound much better. AI just gives you a start, something to work from, it doesn't do it all for you. And? So f**king what mate. You're not makig music any better than what A.I. can spew out.
I just asked a simple question, you're defensiveness tells me you have no logical answer.Get off the f**king high horse.
