Urs wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 8:36 pmWe're in the bug fixing / polishing / sound design stage. Some features need a bit more attention, a few things are still in flux a bit. We may add a module or a filter algorithm here or there, or maybe we add them later. But we sure hope to go public beta in November (this year), and release in December or January.

I really haven't been this excited for a virtual instrument in a long time. Zebralette is already a fantastic sounding synth and I am looking forward to the beta and to using Zebra 3.

Same here! I could already try something out on u-he Superbooth and even though it was just a few minutes, I ended up with some very inspiring sounds, based on the new physical modeling modules!

I work on linux/bitwig Zebra 2.9.4, but I noticed "key control" isn't working.
I thought maybe because I'm on Wayland, maybe not I don't know, hence I have 2 questions:
Is that wayland issue on Z 2.9.4 ? And will Z3 have wayland full support on linux.

I don't really know. Our Linux devs usually don't post here, but they do check out our sub forum for Linux support: viewforum.php?f=292
That said, I hope that one day we can develop for Linux as thoroughly and timely as we do for Win and macOS. We're currently not in the position to do so - it's often developer initiative atm -, but who knows, we'll see where things go.

Key control is still marked as experimental feature. We will get it to work on Linux as well, but as ever so often when it comes to Linux, it's complicated and takes time.WalterH wrote: Wed Oct 22, 2025 9:00 pm I work on linux/bitwig Zebra 2.9.4, but I noticed "key control" isn't working.

Feature suggestion:
Make default Zebra 2 skin and DotEight ZebraHZ compatible. I do believe those skins are a bit more "user friendly"

Yep, they do last until final release. With us, these periods usually coincide with an introduction offer.eclipse_soundlab wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 5:33 pm So public beta period will last until final release?

Yes, we're pretty close. It's more like 4-6 weeks away than 2-3 weeks. But either way, any of this can happen only in case we can keep on track and nothing serious happens.
We have a whole set of teams polishing parts.

Personally, as a Linux user, I would be very curious in knowing more about the process used to develop the Linux versions.Urs wrote: Wed Oct 22, 2025 9:49 pm I don't really know. Our Linux devs usually don't post here, but they do check out our sub forum for Linux support: viewforum.php?f=292

What are the differences?
How soon are they a concern?
Do you use compatible tools from the start? (if not why?)
Are they using a compatibility layer?
What are some of the challenges (technical or otherwise) when developing for Linux?
That would be a fascinating blog post, IMO.
