Really nice update.

  • Renamed VstPlugins.Xml to PluginDatabase.xml
Presumably we can do this ourselves after dropping in the patch?

MuLab does it for you ;)
I just mentioned it in the change log for info.

Ah right!

MuLab App 9.4.3 beta for Windows 64 bit is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

MuLab Plugin 9.4.3 beta for Windows 64 bit is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/plugin/la ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • Oscillator Layers: Now each layer has an on/off switch.
This is more comfortable and flexible than the previous method using "Num Layers".
  • New "Repeat Note(s)" shortcut function to quickly repeat notes after eachother, eg. for a drum fill, chord repeats, arpeggio phrases, etc.
Note that this is a shortcut-only function so you need to assign a shortcut to it to use it.
  • Other small improvements.

This is a feature I was hoping could be done with "Duplicate" in Generic shortcut function.
It's very convenient.
Thank you!

Tip: It also works on a combi of notes!

MuLab App 9.4.4 beta is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

MuLab Plugin 9.4.4 beta is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/plugin/la ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • MultiForm Oscillator: Finetuned rendering in case the last source is a Wave Shape.
  • MultiForm Oscillator now also auto-renders upon changing "Num Steps".
  • Wave Shapes: Support for Copy-Paste. Handy to 'chain' different Wave Shapes to make a multiwavetable.
  • Other small improvements.

Also the Mac and Windows 32 bit versions are available on the above beta page links.

MuLab App 9.4.9 beta for Windows is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

MuLab Plugin 9.4.9 beta for Windows is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/plugin/la ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • Curves: New curve type Bezier replaces the Exponential, Exponential2, Symmetric, SineQ1, SineQ4, SineQ1Q4 and SineQ4Q1 curves. This new Bezier curve type is much more flexible and as it replaces 7 other ones, the curve system becomes more easy to use, yet offering many more curve options than before.
  • Front Panels: MultiForm Oscillator Display now supports custom colors.
  • Oscillator Layers Quick Edit: Now applies "Invert" for each even layer to avoid that the resulting wave values grow too high ie. beyond clipping. This could especially happen with waveforms with many asymmetric high values, like eg. a block wave 20% etc.
  • MultiForm Oscillator: When editing an MFO Wave Shape while playing a sequence on it, then during auto render the sound could drop in an unexpected/unpleasant way. Refined.
  • Sequence Clip Editor: New "Split" function to split note(s).

Hey guys....the numbers and features are growing pretty quick. Is this still a beta?
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

Yes still a beta.

FYI: Versions M9.4.5 to M9.4.8 were not public.

Draft info on the MuLab Curves:

MuLab Curves are used at many places:
  • When drawing Automation Envelopes
  • When drawing Wave Shapes for an LFO or a vectorized wavetable
  • When modifying modulation signals, eg the output of an ADSR or LFO
  • ...
A MuLab curve basically is a shape that defines how an input value between 0 to 100% is mapped to an output value between 0% and 100%.
The most simple curve is a linear curve where input value 10% results in output 10%, input 25% results in output 25%, input 80% results in output 80%, simply said: output = input.
But it's very interesting, for all kinds of effects, to change this curve.
There are several curve types, but the main one now is the Bezier curve, which can be tweaked by 3 parameters: Curving, Asymmetry and Edging.
  • Curving = How much convex or concave the curve must be.
  • Asymmetry = The asymmetry of the curve. Note that the closer the Curving parameter is to 100% the lesser this has effect.
  • Edging = The lower the value the smoother the curve, the higher this value the more edgy this curve will be.
There also is a Mirror option which will make the curve mirrored at 50%.

When drawing envelopes or wave shapes:
Left-click-drag the curve between 2 points to change its main shape parameter.
Alt + left-click-drag a curve to change its second shape parameter.
You can also doubleclick a curve to open the curve editor for detailed settings, eg to set the curve to a Sine Q1 or Q4 to assemble a sine waveform.
