predictable comment ... actually took longer than I thought for one to pop up.egbert101 wrote:Do you own the original?akeia wrote:I demoed the Arturia Easel and wanted to like it. But I do not. Before getting excited about the Arturia Easel check some videos with the original. To my ears the Arturia does not sound anything like the original. Their TAE "True Analog Emulation" seems not be able to model individual characteristics of hardware.

I've actually created about 30 of Todd Bartons patches, and set the settings as identical as I can based on what he shows you. The sound is pretty much indistinguishable with tiny nuances being only natural slight variations in the settings.

Oh, I wasn't talking about your post ... your's was on point.egbert101 wrote:Predictable or not, it's a fair question to ask.SJ_Digriz wrote: predictable comment ... actually took longer than I thought for one to pop up.
He didn't ask a question, he made a statement.

I did try to warn you guys that the BF deals on Arturia might indicate an impending release.egbert101 wrote:Well I just found out today like you. Right after the black friday week when I'm completely broke.chk071 wrote: Well, exactly. Why weren't we fellow KVR'ers informed timely.
Hence no money to pay for the update, which I couldn't afford anyway at 199 Euros!!!

IIRC, Arturia sent out an email survey a few months back of suggested future products. If that wasn't a hint, I don't know what is...chk071 wrote:Well, seriously, i would have thought when you do an emulation of such an iconic synth that you'd kick up some dust in the forefront. Anyway, seems like they decided not to.

I have played a real CS-80 years ago ... The V version sounds only vaguely like it.egbert101 wrote:Okay fair enough. I honestly am interested, because it's an entirely new sound to me, and something that I might grow to love in future.SJ_Digriz wrote: Oh, I wasn't talking about your post ... your's was on point.

I'd also like to find someone on KVR that actually owns a real Yamaha CS-80 and can compare it with the Arturia CS-80V and Memorymoon ME80, and put to rest once and for all whether they do or don't sound like the original!
I have played an Easel several times over the last couple of years. The V version sounds and behaves very very close.

Looking at the first tutorial video I can see an Export menu option under the Import one, so I hope so.SHall1000 wrote:Wonder if DX7 V will export Sysex as well as import? Thinking Volca FM.

Maybe I need to invest in faster internet because this is just cringeworthy..
The servers must be hammered right now. I was trying to upgrade my Mini V a little while ago and the throughput was so bad I cancelled. I'll try later.

My guess is that someone in marketing got wind and realized the folly of that nonsense.jsp1979 wrote: It was definitely on there earlier in multiple places in my account.
Now, that message is not there.
Read into that what you will.
By all rights upgrading from V4 at $199 isn't so bad. I mean, it's like paying $100 each for two upgrades. The problem is that it's also leaving money on the table because Arturia has a pattern. If they don't want people to respond to that pattern then they will have to stop the pattern.
I agree with those that are saying that the Buchla is cool. I think that it is as well. I really want to play with it on my touchscreen laptop, it might just be the perfect synth for that format. Given how much stuff that I care about in this release, e.g., all of the new synths AND the improvements to the Piano, you'd think that I'd jump on this. Especially since I'd be getting the U/I updates from V5 and the Synclavier. Should be a bargain, right?
Well it's not bad, but, I'm going to wait because I KNOW that I would be throwing $100 away. It's really tempting, but, not tempting enough. I'll go play with the other toys that are new, I'll forget about this, and sometime in the future the deal will happen and them, boom, money saved.

Sorted, I think its a problem with the Software Centre.Kevin [Arturia] wrote:Not cool...VariKusBrainZ wrote:Hmm, since updating quite a few of them have bits missing from the GUI and dont produce audio
Can you PM some details about this (which instruments, OS, DAW...) so we can have a look at this tomorrow?
I had previously installed everything on the C drive but now installed to the D drive.
I had changed the location under settings in the Software Center but only the new VSTs were installed to the D drive.
The updated VSTs were installed in the old location of C.
My DAW is looking at D.
So I had had the old VST dlls on the D drive trying to load the updated data
