Actually it is counter-productive to focus on raising your standards. Getting the job done is more about making sacrifices and looking for the easy way out rather than investing effort to find the best possible trade-off in every situation.

That is one of the major differences between Xhip vs. other projects I've worked on. Xhip is somewhere that I actually can invest that massive amount of effort focusing on trivial needless things in the hope that maybe, by random chance the result might be beneficial. I think in many ways it has.

Everything is a trade-off :)
