Yes, sorry for the delay. BYOME is officially finished and out of our hands, but there's still a lot that Plugin Alliance needs to prepare. This is an extremely deep plugin, so there's a lot more needed than usual.
Josh developed it while reading about Tony Visconti's recording techniques for "Heroes". There's a story about how he would set up three microphones at various distances and run them through separate effect chains. So, when Bowie sang quietly and up against the microphone, it'd be a much drier sound. However, when he shouted, more distant mics would pick up the sound and run it through a reverb chain.
We do have an awesome Sunder prototype that we'd like to improve for potential release next year. The best way to think about it is like a more detailed transient shaper. You can process the loud transients separately from the sustained elements.robbmonn wrote:Watch the demo video if you don't get it. It is ****amazing**** what you can wire up with this tool, especially with the modular audio/CV back panel metaphor in Reason.

That’s really interesting to me, I wonder what PA has to do? Just curious, that’s all.

Haha. Had never heard of Sunder before, but that's an interesting idea for a plugin!woggle wrote:a loud clap of sunlightaMUSEd wrote:What is 'Sunder'?

Pretty much everything outside of design, research, and development. They handle QA, marketing, copy-protection, tech support, a beta forum, artist outreach, etc.dusted william wrote:That’s really interesting to me, I wonder what PA has to do? Just curious, that’s all.
Josh and I still run our social media pages, and I was the one who jumped the gun on announcing the release date before clearing it with marketing. That one is on me

The delay is okay for me because I‘ll be able to use the October voucher then... (The September one went on MetricAB which is expensive but pretty good). By the way: has anybody a guess about the BYOME price tag?

If only I wasn‘t just imagining „we‘ll make up for the delay with an extraordinarily generous intro discount“...thelizard wrote:Yes, sorry for the delay. Would that be similar to Eventide Fission then?thelizard wrote:We do have an awesome Sunder prototype that we'd like to improve for potential release next year. I‘ll save my voucher for it but fear it will kill my October funds...

But there's already a few plugins around (band split with individual effect assignments) - Blue Cats, Hy-Plugins...Winstontaneous wrote:Haha. Had never heard of Sunder before, but that's an interesting idea for a plugin!woggle wrote:a loud clap of sunlightaMUSEd wrote:What is 'Sunder'?
