HI
I bought Atmosphere and I am trying to install it. Is there any other way than installing it first on a PC? I have a mac and so do all of my friends, so I don't have access to a PC.
I have also tried to look for samba which has to be used when installing it on the Receptor but the sites I have found go a bit too incomprehensable for me. I just don't get it (the mirrorsites or whatever...)
I would really like to start using the atmospehere, I really need it in my setup, but it seems to be 2 quite an obstacles getting it installed.

Samba is the Windows networking protocol, but OS X is compatible both with AppleTalk and Samba. However, we provide AppleTalk only for people restricted to Mac OS 9 because AppleTalk on Receptor has limitations - the file names are limited to 31 characters and the file size is limited to 2 GB. If you have OS X you should use Samba instead of AppleTalk.
You should turn AppleTalk off on your Receptor. You can have AppleTalk on or off on your Mac, it does not matter. Just make sure "Windows Networking" is turned on in your Receptor. You can do this using one of the following methods:
BTW You can download the Windows DLLs for Stylus Classic, Atmosphere and Trilogy from the Spectrasonics website so you don't need to install the Windows version at all (they are in the support area).

had the same problem ... this part works now ... I managed to install and authorize atmosphere ... but when I open atmosphere I get an error message saying that there is a problem with the .dat file (UVI engine error: An error occured. Could not load .dat file. Error ID 30004)
BTW: I copied the dat file from my mac powerbook (via samba) to my receptor and I downloaded the windows dll from spectrasonics website.
I opened a support ticket at plugorama but no news so far ...
Any suggestions?

HI
Thanks for the advice, I got the dll file and the dat dile transferred into the receptor.
I authorized it. But the atmosphere didn't show on my plugins list. I tried to install the plugin again but the installation fails. I took all of the files out of receptor and transferred them again. and tried to install again, but installation fails.
What should I do? I've been working at this for some hours now and just donä't have a clue..

Thank you for your advice!
I followed the instructions on the pdf file strictly and made it to the stage of authorizing the plugin.
However the plugin didn't show on the receptor's plugin list.
I restarted the receptor but didn't help. Then I started the whole installing process again from step one. I deleted all the files on the receptor and transferred them again but now it says that the installation failed.
I did the whole thing all over again and now it said that cannot locate the .dat file.
All the files are in the folders that the pdf instructions say that they should be.
I've spent about 12 hours trying to get the atmosphere to work. Unbelievable, I have work to do, don't have time for this kind of trouble....

hooray!!
my install finally worked ... dunno really why ... I did everything like in the pdf file ... then I put a dat file (no alias) into the same folder than the dll file (unsupported etc..) leaving the other dat file in the samples folder ... installed the newest system update .... et voila!
now everything works! I'm veryvery glad!

yes! I got it installed also pretty much accidentally. I just did alla over again what I had done a over and over again. One tip to others with the same problem.
Although receptor says that installation failed, restart the muse, it might just pop up in your plug in list after doing so!
