In their present state, the VST plugins are just too heavy on the CPU, even if one is playing the modest of solo lines. Plus, it would be incredibly convenient to have all the articulations of the instrument available in one big patch or preset (instead of 5 different patches and instances).

Hi Alex, we hear you.
We used to have ChineeWinds available in Giga format - unfortunately, people apparently preferred the VSTi version, so much so that we thought it's not worthwhile to maintain the Giga version at all, hence resulted in the removal of it from our product line.
We have been in contact with Tascam, and we are still watching closely on their upcoming GVI, so there's a chance (albeit a tad remote) that we might consider making Giga version again in the future.

Yeah, I have the original ChineeWinds in Giga format, and prefer it that way.
I guess I am still "old school" though and prefer to be able to access the samples, rather than have everything hidden behind a VSTi
Regards,
Ben H

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Well, I'm glad that there's still some hope. I pray that GVI is as economical with resources as their stand-alone version. If it is, it will be one heck of a playback module.sosayweall wrote: We have been in contact with Tascam, and we are still watching closely on their upcoming GVI, so there's a chance (albeit a tad remote) that we might consider making Giga version again in the future.
Good luck.
