Just installed the free avast virus scaner on one of my partitions. It claims to have deteced "Win32:Trojan-gen" in the KA_ICON4S6.exe file that I downloaded a while back. Scan with the latest AVG turned up nothing. I realize this could be a flase positive, but I'd like to see test results from other scanners (Norton, McAfee, etc.)

Hi Keith, avast free is a little bit prone to false alarm, AFAIK. Thanks for the feedback nevertheless.

Thanks, sosayweall... Actually, your post prompted me to google "avast false positive"... and actually found a post on the avast forum regarding false positives:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board= ... eadid=7779
It specifically mentions "false positive files are usually detected as: Win32:Trojan-Gen", which is the virus claimed by my scan...
Maybe I'll stick with AVG after all and roll the dice...

Keith, thanks for the link! that's a very useful link indeed. I've added that two online scanners to my bookmark.
