OK, I've updated my Receptor to 1.6. No probs, everything seems to be working fine.
Attention, because of the check on your drive when you reboot after the OS update, it can take a very long time before you can see the usual screen.
On my Rev C with a 500 Gb drive, it took just over 1 hour 20 minutes.

OMG kermit! That's crazy. My update took about 5 minutes with the 300Gb. Although I didn't expect it, my Registry Editor is now GONE from the new "Run Utility" menu. I need to clean out my registry of some junk I tried to get running on my Receptor.
Any ideas on how to get that thing back in there?
cheers,

If you've still got the RPM you can install it again. If not I think you'll have to ask the support guys for it again.hoestreicher wrote:my Registry Editor is now GONE from the new "Run Utility" menu. I need to clean out my registry of some junk I tried to get running on my Receptor.

On my Rev B 160GB, the update happened in around 5 mins as well. It went so fast I actually thought it might have aborted, etc. The version confirmed in the display though and so far so good. I'm hoping to have more time to test this weekend.

BTW, Ogg, if you are listening: It appears that in OS 1.6 sshd is off by default. You should add chkconfig --add sshd to your "how to get root access via ssh" FAQ instructions. I had dicsovered and done this (chkconfig) in OS 1.6 BETA week ago, and when I updated to 1.6 official last night, I had to do it again!

I guess it depends on how much data you've got. I've got 120 Gb free on my 500, which probably explains the long clean.hoestreicher wrote:My update took about 5 minutes with the 300Gb.
Hybernation, thanks for the sshd tip. I've not checked logging as root from my PC but I'll know the culprit if it doesn't work.
