Hi folks,

This topic is on FX improvements. Initially I have Phaser in mind. I'm planning to finish it by the end of the day and hopefuly will post some audio demos.

The phaser will be a Layer FX. I might add multi-tap Chorus for 2.2 release as well, with variable number of taps. (Right now we have a single tap Flanger/Chorus as a global FX)

After the phaser I'm gonna move on to fix the reverb. I'm planing to finish it by the end of next week (April 10th) After that, it's time to update the presets, the GUI and the user manual :tu:

Regarding the Phaser specs, here are the parameters:

Number Of Stages: 4,8,12,16
Dry/Wet Mix Ratio
Feedback
Initial Cutoff
Initial Notch Spacing
Modulation Depth (to change the spacings between notches)
Modulation Speed (can be synced to tempo)
LFO L-R Phase Diff (the L-R LFOs can have different phases to achieve stereo effect)

Hey, can you do a 'destination' setting for each of the effects? So we could use the layer and normal fx alongside.
Would work like the z3ta+'s one

I completed the implementation of the Phaser, it sound really cool 8)

Increasing the number of stages really help, so I might go as high as 32 stages.

BTW, the cutoff and notch spacing parameter can BOTH be modulated by the phaser's stereo LFO so enables us to get really cool sounds out of the phaser!

OK guys, since I'm done with the Phaser effect, before I move on to Reverb this weekend, how about if I throw in a Chorus/Ensemble effect?

Actually it'll be more than chorus since there'll be variable number of stages :)

I hope that the effects being advanced and customizable won't go hard on the usability

Well, since we can have "partial presets" and customizable user interfaces, we can achieve usable interfaces, I'm hoping at least :)

i really like the chorus effect in renoise, one thing i really like about it,is that it has its own distortion

would you consider synthmasters chorus to have its own distortion too?that would be sweet

A big yay for the partial presets, but I've only seen a minimal amount of partials yet. I hope that might change when people will slowly do those...
I don't want to start doing those cause I don't have a reference monitor standing around, and I'm afraid what sounds good on my budget stuff, won't sound good for the masses.

As long as it sounds analog why not
