Upgrade path 2.0->2.5 & multi-platform

Just for clarification (As there's nothing on the site that I could find):

What's the upgrade path for someone who bought a 2.0 license, and how does it apply to having both platforms (Mac and Windows) ?

I ask this considering the current upgrade offers in place, and wondering how they relate to current owners.

2.5 is free for all preexisting customers, on both platforms, period
