a feature request i'd like to bring up , if this hasn't been raised previously ...
a 'step-edit' mode , for the mseg ...
something i think absynth does a very nice job of handling ...
amount ( positive or negative ) & duration ...
thanks for any consideration ...
( waits for someone to point out it's already available , and ReadTheFurnishedMaterials )

Urs, if you haven't seen how Omnisphere does MSEGs, I recommend watching: http://vimeo.com/17380722
The chaos envelopes are an interesting idea and I also like the 1/2 and double step buttons to squash/strech an MSEG in time. Maybe it'll give you a few other ideas too.

Zebra has those functions, but with independant attack / loop / release (and velocity) scaling. Personally I'm not so keen on a "chaos" function, but repeat/unrepeat and the step curve could be handy.bmrzycki wrote:Omnisphere... Good ideas, but not quite what we have in mind.bmrzycki wrote:Urs, if you haven't seen how Omnisphere does MSEGs, I recommend watching: http://vimeo.com/17380722

Like Howie, I'm not a fan of Chaos.
Our new meta controls will have additional controls for Decay (optional) and Loop level. They don't actually change the envelope itself, they're non-destructive and can be modulated.
We won't have fancy "segment" modes as these won't allow for seamless morphing between different shapes. We're merely looking into easy-to-use bezier splines, e.g. inserting a point anywhere in a segment won't break the segment's curvature.
You'll see, the concept is rather good, but maybe less "presety"

I have full confidence in you and Howard, to be sure.Urs wrote:You'll see, the concept is rather good, but maybe less "presety"
Oh, one last request, please let us use MSEGs as the Amp envelope in Z3.

Our inspiration mostly stems from the idea of unifying OSC waveforms, MSEGs, ModMappers, custom LFO waves into the same single thing with curve/freehand modes, drag'n'drop support back and forth, sample conversion and a set of unified, useful editing tools.bmrzycki wrote:I have full confidence in you and Howard, to be sure.Urs wrote:You'll see, the concept is rather good, but maybe less "presety"I just linked it in case you hadn't seen it before. It's funny how inspiration for new ideas can come from almost anywhere.

But of course!Oh, one last request, please let us use MSEGs as the Amp envelope in Z3.

I always loved the idea in Vember Audio's Surge of the 6 ENV+LFOs. Knowing this is something I'll easily be able to do in Z3 makes me very happy.
And I know you're looking at simpler ways of editing modulators. This is all really good news.
So can I buy my $30 upgrade now?!?

Most definitely, Urs.
(Before you release Z2.5.4, could you check out why doesn't com.u-he.Zebra2.publicparams.txt work with Reaper for automation parameter renaming - W7 x64, Reaper 4 x64?
