There has been a lot of talk about the mixing revolution, but what exactly is it? I know you don't want to talk too much about it before it is released, but can you give us a general idea?
Is it 1 plugin or a series of different plugins? Is it new never seen before fx or is it a refinement of already existing concepts? Is it for normal mixing tasks or for sound design? In another thread you talked about a compressor that could emulate vintage compressors. Is that part of the mixing revolution or is it something separate?
Sorry for so many questions, I'm just curious.

No, it's an artificial intelligence based software solution where the mixed end result will be indistinguishable from anything the best human mixing engineers can produce.
The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

I'm guessing it's like spectral dynamics on each track but they all communicate together with some sort of spectral prioritisation system. That way the system can carve out frequency holes for each element. But that's just a guess.
Even if it mostly involves slapping plugs on each track, the real magic will come from how they work together, so I doubt it'll be making engineers redundant any time soon as someone still needs to control that

I also think it will be this.vectorwarrior wrote:I'm guessing it's like spectral dynamics on each track but they all communicate together with some sort of spectral prioritisation system. That way the system can carve out frequency holes for each element. But that's just a guess.

I also imagine on the main master plugin there will be a 3d placement view, where we can place the elements of our mix in space.

I hope it will be a plugin where I can connect my Music on the input and from the output comes a perfect mix and mastering without me having to spend hours and hours doing it

My question would be: could it be that some beta testers already have seen these new tools?

If they knew that they had seen them, they still couldn't say anything.

I guess so too, and a bit of Mtransformer (the freq transformer) for sure.vectorwarrior wrote:I'm guessing it's like spectral dynamics on each track but they all communicate together with some sort of spectral prioritisation system. I hope it's part of the Bundles (at least MtotalBundle) as a good reverb is the only thing missing here. And I mean a quality reverb a la Bricasti/Valhalla/Lexicon...in that ballpark. The only usable for me currently is MConvolution, which in itself is a bit restricted in it's possibilities, but has the quality. Mreverb/Mmultibandreverb sounds a bit ugly to me in many cases. Because of bad resolution, as it works like a hall with fast repetitons (just not fast enough) but longer tails.

Well, reverbs are supersubjective
. MReverb probably isn't the smoothest reverb out there, so I'd like to create one when time allows.

I agree, BUT: try to use MReverb as a Early-Reflection-Positioning-Tool. For this purpose I really like it a lot!Batty wrote:Mreverb/Mmultibandreverb sounds a bit ugly to me in many cases. (Basically using ER only and no tail ... while disabling the reverb modulation it can even get extreme CPU saving thanks to the last fix, Vojtech did some time ago!
