Multiple velocity shapes in MSoundFactory possible?

I have been using multiple instances of msoundfactory for creations that use multiple voices with different velocity shapes. For example, 1) a click organ where the clicks are affected by midi velocity but the sustained notes are not, 2) a pad where midi velocity controls a blend of two voices, etc.

As far as I can tell, the only way to adjust midi velocity or "velocity shape" is globally by clicking the "Show advanced settings" button in the Globals tab. Right clicking modules allows you to filter out midi notes, but not affect them otherwise. I don't mind using multiple instances of the plugin, but I thought I might be overlooking a feature. Are there any work-arounds?

Use one of the modulation sources. There are not only envelopes and LFOs but also velocity. Add the velocity modulator to whatever parameter you want and then use a custom shape to change how that parameter responds to velocity.

Thanks for the tip!

I was able to approximate constant velocity by adding the velocity modulator to a generator's "volume" parameter using this shape:
MSoundFactory2.jpg
Points: (0%, 100%), (100%, 18%) and "Free 1" curve (-37% x 46%)
(Volume knob set at "silence" with mod depth set to 100%, max 0dB)
This was with the standard velocity shape in the globals tab.

Alternatively, if I set a range of 0.00dB for the global velocity shape, I can add a velocity modulator to make a generator react to velocity. However, this also requires a very particular and curved custom shape in order to mimic the standard global velocity shape.

It's not a precise solution, but it should be close enough to get the job done :tu:

You can instantiate MSF inside MSF's FX chain, then you have literally 2 instances, each can work differently.
