MDrummer Requests

EDIT: Maybe the filter tab makes no sense since the FX rack for that component is right there.
Actually I think filter tabs in the various layers does make sense since the FX list is per-track. Having filters on each option (multisample, sampler...) would help.
Hi, hope you're doing well. I'm writing to request two features in MDrummer.
The first is persistence in the Drum/Layer Source panel when switching among MultiSampler, Sampler, Scratcher, etc. When I was first exploring MDrummer, I was surprised when my settings disappeared when I was clicking those tabs. Now I know to remember which sample I had selected but this would still be useful for layering sounds from the different source types e.g. blending Scratcher and Sampler sources. Alternatively, a 'layer persist' button can be added as to maintain backward compatibility.
EDIT: I realize you can switch among layers the Velocity Layers section. Still, if a user changes their mind, they might forget which sample they had selected - or worse - lose a cool sound in Scratcher. Yes, I think some kind of persistence button would be an excellent addition.
This leads me to request two which is to have a Filter tab in each layer source. For example, the Sampler, next to the Envelope and Pitch Tabs, will have there a Filter Tab. Filters are useful for layering. I've requested this in the past and I'm surprised that it's not there.
Combined, these two features, a layer Persist button and Filter Tab to the Layer Sources will enhance MDrummer's layering capabilities. Please consider implementing them. Thank you.

Ah yes. Wow you're resourceful! lol thank you.
Ok, besides that I still think the first part of my request is valid. Cheers.

Well, it was actually my feature request at the time! Lol. I find it very useful when I have multiple beats with subtle variations to just set the velocity to zero and let it randomly play through them. Glad it worked for you!

It's a good idea. Maybe it'd be helpful if the F1 help mentioned this.edkilp wrote: Sun Sep 25, 2022 12:17 pm Well, it was actually my feature request at the time! Lol. The Velocity Mapping curve in the Output MIDI Filter is pre-Modifiers. If I use it to control another plugin, it not only increases the output velocity like the related video and Help say but also changes the way the Modifiers 1-4 respond to the rhythms played by MDrummer's sequencer. In other words, if I have Modifier 1 enabled to change a Snare drum 1 from C2 to C#2 with a Minimal Velocity of 75%, pushing up the Velocity Mapping curve will make it switch. I thought this was worth mentioning in case Melda wants to update the help or if someone searches for this.
Signal Flow:
MDrummer Sequencer > Output MIDI Filter > Source > (MIDI) Mute-Solo > Velocity Mapping Curve > Modifier1-4 > Output

Might be cool if we could automate the parameters of synthesizer4nn or even have multiparameters in MDrummer.

Request: lock track option in rhythm editor/generator
ie: generate only snare or kick etc.
