CAUTION: 1,3 and 8 band eq, band 1, generating huge low end spikes in 12.5

Can anyone confirm? EDIT: with your volume on zero /not through speakers.
Using 8 band eq, band one as a high pass filter, getting big big spikes of low end generated sporadically when I move the frequency node in the UI. Set to 48 db slope it was off the scale (Voxengo Span lit up solid full spectrum, nailed the clipper which I put on as protection)

In case it's not just me, watch your ears/phones/speakers

So far can replicate it with both the one and three band eqs also, but not the #T Equaliser or third party filters

Why are they needed when there are better and more functional free alternatives?
Thanks for the warning!

I reach for the 8 band eq all the time as a quick high pass plus peak/dip/high shelf, no frills eq to tidy up samples. Probably habit and familiarity even though I have dozens of other fancier options. Problem is, its across all my projects so I don't want it broken lol.

You won't believe it :) I sincerely want everything to work properly, especially the 8-band equalizer! But, while this equalizer is just for show, for me it is inconvenient, archaic, and of little functionality. I prefer, from very recent releases, the free ChowMultiTool or the inexpensive Psyphaz.

In this regard, it is more a matter of taste and speed of working with the equalizer. I have EQuivocate, and KiloHearts Slice+Carve EQ and TBEQ4 and Hornet totaleq and many others besides FF and Kirchhoff. But, I think that the 8-band eq has, or had, every opportunity to become the best equalizer built into the daw, precisely because it is deeply integrated into the daw, its possibilities could be almost limitless with the addition of some functions: analyzer-comparison tracks, automatic detection of overlapping frequencies, on / off linear phase in the lower register, grouping, convenient operation, together with the correct operation! envelope follower dynamic processing, frequency response inversion, and others, and this direction should be developed. And in this regard, no AI is needed. But, these are my dreams. This will never happen in WF. So it remains, in my opinion, the best sounding is the old SplineEq, and the new, also based on splines, PsyPhaZ Pro (PsyPhaZ Pro = Scope, Sidechain / broadband or multiband lfo/ducker, Spectral Engine, Advanced Phase and Magnitude manipulation, Per Frequency Corrolometer, Dynamics and Wavshaper custom bezier shaping)
