I'm not that experienced so have trouble with what a lot of you will think is real basic stuff, so please bear with me.
I've never really attempted to do much automation using Tracktion. This has changed now I have RMX. I want to automate the Power Filter sliders. So.... firstly I activated the "Automation Write Mode" button in T. Then I started recording on the same track as the RMX Groove files, selected the BP filter and played around with the sliders. I heard the changes (n-i-c-e filters). At a certain point I clicked the RMX filter "off" and sure enough, the filter was deactivated. When I played back the track, though, the automation was all over the place. For some reason the LP filter suddenly kicked-in although I'd never selected that when recording. Various other odd things happened. So...
I went to the "A" box top right of the track, and then deleted all points from the active curve. As a side issue, how can I erase existing active curves, rather than just delete points? I tried again, and again when I played back the track, the automation wasn't what I'd "performed".
I've since tried using the midi learn as demonstrated by Eric in the tutorial video. That seemed to work as the faders did move when I used my controller knobs. But when I deleted the points on the curves again, and went back to the RMX interface, the controller no longer controlled the faders, and I found that using midi learn again didn't work
The "punch out" & "punch out (to end)" options are greyed out. When do these become available?
How can I automate the "off" of the filter section? I've tied a controller to the filter type but wan't to be able to select "off" immediately, rather than turn the knob and cycle from BP to off passing through LP on the way. Hope you get what I'm burbling on about
Sorry to be hard work but I'm totally confused! Did you notice?
