I am seriously intersted in purchasing the receptor as It sounds brilliant. But I have some questions:

1) Is it really heavy to carry?

2) I only have USB on my pc and cat5 cables. Will I be able to communicate with Receptor and PC?

3)It is currently £1200 in the uk but £750 in the US. Will I need an adaptor and could it blow up with using it in the UK

4) Can I plug my ipod into it and play a track through it as well as use my midi keyboard.

Thanks

1 ~ Not heavy at all

2 ~ Can't help you out with that stuff, sorry

3 ~ Probably, but this company has some of the best tech support I've encountered, with unusually quick and detailed responses.

4 ~ Likely a few ways, the most obvious being a 1/4" adapter going directly into the Front Panel Input

Receptor uses ethernet (Which uses CAT5 cables) for all Computer <> Receptor communcation so you should be fine. If you don't have a hub or router you'll need a cross-over cable. More info can be found here: http://www.plugorama.com/customer/receptor_web_help.php

Receptor uses a universal power supply (I don't know the technical name...), which adapts to the country's power supply, no adapter required (apart from a new power chord ;)).

When you say cat5 cable you mean that your computer has an Ethernet card. If that's correct, you will be able to communicate with Receptor.

We strongly recommend that you buy it in the UK. If something happens and you need a replacement you don't have to send your Receptor back to the US, for instance. There are other advantages to being "legit."

But, if you absolutely want to buy it in the US, the only difference between the US and the UK version is the power cord.
