At this year's Winter NAMM show the Vienna Symphonic Library will present an entirely new Virtual Instruments Collection: Vienna Dimension Brass features recordings of 16 brass instruments in 4 different sections. VSL says that for the first time, each instrument in these ensembles has been recorded with a dedicated microphone, providing individual access to each voice. Using the proprietary software player Vienna Instruments PRO and its tailor-made Humanize Presets, homogeneous and natural sounding brass performances can be achieved "like never heard before".
Additionally, NAMM visitors will have the opportunity to see and hear the entire arsenal of existing sample library collections as well as software products in various applications. The presentation stage is hosted by Vienna's American distributor, ILIO, at booth #6728 in Hall A of the Anaheim Convention Center.

An entirely new meaning of the term "Multi-Samples"
In Vienna Dimension Brass all 16 instruments have been recorded in a unique way at Vienna's Silent Stage. Every captured note was played by a well-rehearsed ensemble of four brass players: 4 trumpets in Bb, 4 French horns, 4 trombones and 4 "Low Brass" instruments (1 tuba, 1 bass trombone, 2 trombones – spread in octaves). Although every instrument was recorded separately, care was taken to make sure the resulting combination of instruments sounded like an ensemble and not like four soloists, whether playing in unison, divisi, or in four-part harmony. This new recording technique allows for individual access to each voice, including its stereo position, sound characteristics and volume.
Using Vienna Dimension Brass with the proprietary Vienna Instruments PRO player brings new dimensions to virtual brass performances. The Auto-Divisi mode automatically splits voices between players, and with tailor-made Humanize Presets the performance accuracy of all four virtual brass players of an ensemble can be controlled in real-time, at the single touch of a fader – from subtle tuning and timing variations to heavy cluster effects.
Like all previous sample collections, Vienna Dimension Brass comes with the free Vienna Instruments player. To make the most of these unique multi-dimensional samples, the use of Vienna Instruments PRO is recommended.
A fully functional demo version of the software is included in the box.
