23DSP has introduced THABLE and BDSM, two new plugins focused on granular synthesis and dynamic modulation. Both tools offer different approaches to sound manipulation, expanding on previous developments in sample-based synthesis.
THABLE – Dual Granular Synth
THABLE builds on the concept of THALOOP, replacing the loop player with a dual granular engine.
Users can load their own samples and process them through two independent granular layers—one inside the reverb for evolving textures and another in the sample player for more controlled grain processing.

BDSM – Basic Dynamic Sample Modulator – Granulator
BDSM takes a different approach, using a modulated dual-sample engine. The first sample (master) shapes the volume of the second sample (slave), which is then processed through a granular system. This interaction creates dynamic textures based on the amplitude of the master sample. Additional features include an arpeggiator, gain and pitch modulation, filters, phaser, and delay.
