23DSP has released beta version of two plugins: THAMALLET and MB-PumpComp.
23DSP is a newly launched project, started just a month ago, and growing with the support of the community. The goal is to develop practical and creative audio tools, focusing on functionality and user feedback.
THAMALLET – Physically Modeled Percussive Synthesis
THAMALLET is a percussive synthesizer based on physical modeling. It generates mallet and struck sounds by simulating the behavior of resonating materials. The synthesis engine provides control over material properties, resonance, and articulation, making it adaptable for a range of percussive tones.
Features:
- Physically modeled synthesis for metallic resonances.
- Strike and excitation controls for adjusting stiffness, damping, and velocity response.
- Harmonic shaping through Material and Resonance parameters.
- Velocity-sensitive dynamics for expressive control.
MB-PumpComp – 4-Band Multiband Compressor
MB-PumpComp is a multiband compressor with four frequency bands and tempo-synced dynamics. It allows detailed control over compression across different frequency ranges, helping to maintain groove and transient clarity in rhythmic material.
Features:
- 4-band compression with adjustable crossover points.
- Tempo-synced Attack & Release.
- Stereo and Dual Mono operation.
- Adjustable Soft Knee for smoother transitions.
- Dry/Wet mix for parallel compression.
Availability
Both plugins are available in VST3 and AU formats for Windows and macOS in open beta. Workarounds and installation instructions are provided.
The open beta phase is an opportunity for users to test the plugins and provide feedback to improve functionality and compatibility.
More details and downloads are available on the 23DSP page.
