Ableton has announced that Live 12.3 is now available as a public beta, introducing several new features, with a significant new audio tool at the forefront.
The main addition is Stem Separation, a feature that allows users to isolate vocals, drums, bass, or harmonies from an audio sample. This is integrated directly into Live, letting you split any audio clip into its core components for remixing, mashing up, or just grabbing that one part you need.
This update also brings Splice integration directly into Live's browser, giving users access to the sample library without leaving the DAW. A "Search with Sound" feature is included to help find rhythmically and harmonically similar samples within the Splice library.
Several workflow enhancements are part of the 12.3 beta. "Bounce Groups" and "Paste Bounced Audio" aim to simplify the process of rendering and re-inserting audio clips. The Auto Pan-Tremolo device has been updated with a new layout and more in-depth modulation controls. Additionally, an A/B comparison feature has been added to all of Live's built-in instruments and effects.

For Push 3 users, the update adds an XYZ layout that turns the pads into a touch surface for effect and rack control, along with a Rhythm Generator layout and touch-sensitive step editing.
