Bremmers Audio Design updates MultitrackStudio to v11.4, supports ARM64EC

Bremmers Audio Design have released MultitrackStudio v11.4. The Windows installer now includes an ARM64EC version. It runs on Snapdragon CPUs natively, while still allowing x64 plugins to run under emulation.

The new version introduces support for MIDI-CI Profiles. Five profiles are supported: Piano, Drawbar Organ, Rotary Speaker, Default Drum Note Map and Orchestral Articulation. When paired with a compatible keyboard, profiles are automatically enabled on the keyboard, so the keyboard is set up for the track you're recording, with no manual setup required. The MultitrackStudio Instruments acoustic pianos support the Piano Profile.

The Windows version is Windows MIDI Services-ready. Once Microsoft has made the Windows MIDI Services Runtime available, users can install the runtime to enable the MIDI 2.0 protocol and some MIDI-CI features in MultitrackStudio.

Changes:

• Windows on ARM version for Snapdragon CPUs (ARM64EC).
• MultitrackStudio Instruments drums improvements: Better sounds with better dynamics. Tone knobs for Bass, Snare, Toms and Ride. Cymbals and toms can be choked. Hihat Pedal controller controls openness of "Open Hi Hat" note.
• The MultitrackStudio Instruments acoustic pianos support the MIDI 2.0 Piano profile. If your keyboard supports this too, the profile will be enabled (and disabled) automatically, so the velocity and sustain curves match. The piano sound have been improved (again).
• The MIDI 2.0 Piano profile is supported for External MIDI Instruments and CLAP/VST3 plugins.
• The MIDI 2.0 Orchestral Articulation profile is supported for MIDI Out Devices (in addition to CLAP plugins).
• The MIDI 2.0 Drawbar Organ and Rotary Speaker profiles are supported for MultitrackStudio Instruments, Wheel Organ (single manual instruments), External MIDI Instruments and CLAP/VST3 plugins.
• The MIDI 2.0 Default Drum Note Map profile for MultitrackStudio Instruments (Drums), External MIDI Instruments and CLAP plugins.
• Windows MIDI Services-ready. Windows MIDI Services is the brand new MIDI stack for Windows, supporting both MIDI 1.0 and MIDI 2.0. You can use it when Microsoft have released the Windows MIDI Services Runtime. The runtime enables MIDI 2.0 support and some MIDI-CI features in MultitrackStudio.
• Mac: MIDI 2.0 devices now appear in lists as a single nicely named item (macOS 15.4.1 and newer).
• Mac: the Apple Silicon version has more efficient audio processing.
• Tweaks to audio engine to make it more efficient, and cause less CPU spikes.
• "Windows" audio driver type Shared Mode works better.
• Onscreen MIDI Keyboard: Drums layout now has a Choke button, it sends per-note aftertouch.
• MultitrackStudio Instruments: almost all instruments sound better.
• Guitar Amp effect has smoother overdrive sound.
• Stereo Imager: the Comb filter option now keeps low frequencies present in both channels.
• New "Mid-Side to Stereo" preset for Stereo Effect.
• Fixed: Saturator "Tube" program no longer inverts phase.
• Various other improvements and fixes.
