Dystopian Waves Releases Drox II Pro - Multi-Engine Rhythmic and Glitch Processor

-
Dystopian Waves

Dystopian Waves has announced the release of Drox II Pro, a Windows-based VST3 audio effect designed for real-time audio manipulation and rhythmic processing. The plugin integrates four independent processing engines that can operate in isolation or in parallel to create complex glitch and time-based effects.

The architecture is built around four primary modules:

  • Dropout, for rhythmic muting and chopping;
  • Jump, which simulates forward and backward audio skips reminiscent of malfunctioning CD players or tape machines;
  • Tape Stop, providing variable slowdown and restart curves;
  • A comprehensive Stutter Engine.

The Stutter Engine features per-repeat processing, allowing users to apply unique parameters to each iteration of a signal. This includes pitch shifting, FM/PM modulation, four distinct distortion algorithms (tanh, hard clip, wavefold, and bitcrusher), and multiple filter models. The engine is controlled via dedicated sequencers, enabling the composition of rhythmic patterns that can be saved and recalled independently of global presets.

Key Features:

  • Four Independent Engines: Dropout, Jump (CD Skip), Tape Stop, and Stutter.
  • Granular Stutter Control: Individual per-repeat processing including pitch bend, vibrato, and stereo spread.
  • Onboard Sequencing: Dedicated sequencers for composing complex stutter patterns with data recall.
  • Extensive Modulation: Integrated FM/PM modulation and selectable envelope shapes for rhythmic shaping.
  • Tempo Synchronization: All time-based effects and sequencers lock to the host DAW tempo.
  • Multi-Mode Distortion: Includes tanh, hard clipping, wavefolding, and bitcrushing.

Pricing and Availability:

Drox II Pro is available now for an introductory price of $10 until March 10, 2026.
