FMJ-Software has updated Awave Studio, their multi-purpose editor and format converter for instruments and audio files.
New features in v12.14 include:
- Support for reading and writing AKAI S5000/S6000 multi files (.AKM).
- Support for reading AKAI Z4/Z8 programs and multis (.AKP, .AKM).
- Support for reading and writing Bitwig Studio multisamples (.multisample or multisample.xml).
- Support for reading E-Mu Emulator IV banks (.E4B).
- Support for reading E-Mu Emulator X banks and sound files (.EXB, .EBL).
- Mod Wheel playback range support, including crossfade support.
- Finite Loop counts (in addition to inifite and to release).
- When reading SF2 files, it will now automatically convert stereo-linked mono-wave pairs into interleaved stereo. When writing, it will now similarly automatically convert stereo waves to dual mono waves interleaved within the same layer (SF2 instrument).
- When writing SF2 files it will now attempt to reuse any identical layers (SF2 instruments), in order to produce smaller files.
- Improved conversion of dimensions and sorting into layers when reading GigaStudio files (.GIG).
- Improved compatibility reading E-Mu Emulator III CD-ROMs. It now also handles EIV CD-ROMs.
- Note number parameters now have edit-boxes instead of drop-lists, the rationale being that it is quicker to edit that way. You can type in either a MIDI note number, or the note name, whichever you prefer.
- The Auto loop finder now has a Length constraints section, allowing you to selected a maximum loop length in addition to a minimum loop length. It also has a new drop-list where you can select if you want to express the lengths in percent of the total waveform, in milliseconds, or in cycles.
- Added a few new processing functions.
- Assorted bug-fixes and conversion tweaks.
