The Sonic Ark

Sonic Ark has released the first part of Complete Guitar Recording, a two and a half hours tutorial video regarding electric guitar and bass recording techniques. It includes multiple microphone choices and comparisons in a wide variety of music and playing styles, detailed information on microphone placement and recording signal processing.

In this first part of "Complete Guitar Recording" there are also three complete recording examples, examining each setup right from the start (instrument and amp choice, micing set up) all the way to the actual recording (preamp and processing approaches) with detailed explanation on each step.

You can find more info and a small teaser trailer here.

The video is in Full HD quality and it is accompanied by a library of all audio examples in 24-bit wave files.
