Sonokinetic has announced the release of Ostinato Brass, a phrase library for complex brass chords for the free Kontakt Player.
Last year Sonokinetic released their Ostinato Strings library. It was designed to solve one specific issue that virtual instruments have struggled with for years: how to create realistic ostinato motifs without sacrificing playability. The library took their phrase-based approach and extended the harmonic scope so that far more complex chords than simple major and minors could be played.
Sonokinetic say "Ostinato Strings was met with great acclaim both for the sound and the flexibility of the chord system, so we couldn't resist following it up with a brass section using the Ostinato engine and with the same intuitive features."
Sonokinetic returned to the recording space they employed for other Sonokinetic orchestral libraries and created Ostinato Brass.
Ostinato Brass recognises and plays 12 different chord types, handling not only major and minor chords but also diminished, half-diminished, augmented chords and many more.
This library coexists alongside both their Orchestral Series and their Phrase-Based libraries, being recorded in the same hall, with identical mic positions and even utilising some of the same players.
Ostinato Brass is NKS compatible and also runs in the free Kontakt Player Version 5.7.1 and above.
Ostinato Brass is currently available at 50% off introductory price €39,90. At the end of the 12 day promotion, the price will revert to €79,90.
