XILS-lab has announced the availability of a major update of XILS DeeS, the de-esser plugin.
XILS Dees detects sibilances and plosives independently, for altering, adapting, or applying polish to the character of voices with those three independent EQ'ing paths, processed by acclaimed XILS-Lab analogue-style, zero-delay feedback filters.
Unlike traditional de-essing tools, XILS DeeS does not result in unwanted, unnatural-sounding filter sweeping effects yet users can get truly creative with almost endless possibilities.
With these two stages detection, XILS DeeS can also be used to adapt transients as hi-hats or cymbals, for example, or even slap bass by EQ'ing the more metallic-sounding element of such sounds.
