The perception of low-frequency sound is highly vulnerable to masking, especially from energy nearby on the frequency spectrum. BaseViper works by identifying your peak frequency below 200Hz, and enhancing this with dynamic EQ cuts at frequencies of ±12.2%, combined with frequency-specific harmonic saturation.
The effect can help to open up your mix and give the low end a more transparent sound.
Features:
Adjustable anti-masking EQ cut depth and Q factor (i.e. sharpness).
Adjustable harmonic enrichment, adding energy at frequencies complementary to your fundamental low-end tone.
~360ms frequency detection window, with look-ahead function to compensate for the backward-looking frequency measurement.
Fixed effect range of 20-200Hz.
Automatic make-up gain targeting neutral LUFS impact.
