Beatbox - Vocal Percussion

Hey! Do you remember when we used to beatbox at the school yard?

The Beatbox – Vocal Percussion pack is our homage to the noble art of mimicking drum machines (typically a TR-808), using one's mouth, lips, tongue, and voice. It may also involve vocal imitation of turntablism, FX and other musical instruments.

Beatbox has a strong connection with hip-hop culture, often referred to as its "fifth element", although it is not limited to the genre and can be found on other musics such as brazil funk, pop, experimental & electronica.

Beatbox was popularised in the 90's thanks to figures like Razhel or Killa Kela and has been used over the years in countless records by artists so diverse such as Biz Markie, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake or Björk.

For this pack, we scheduled a beatbox recording session and used a Shure SM7b and an API 512 preamp to catch that original fat 90's beatbox sound.

Inside the pack you will find 848 samples & 53 drum kits (Ableton & Maschine), covering all the ejectives, fricatives, mouth hits & spits you need to humanise your drum tracks.
