Daisy Age

The Daisy Age was an ethos pioneered be De La Soul and found in playful early hip-hop records of the 1990s. We've created a truly authentic collection of Daisy Age beats recorded in the world-famous Pool recording studio in London.

Daisy Age is a collection of drum tracks Inspired by classic hits from De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Monie Love, Black Sheep and many more. We used a beautiful 1970s Slingerland kit with a vintage Premier kick drum for extra thump. For an authentic early Daisy Age sound we relied mainly one one mic (a Chanler Redd) going into a vintage Neve with a touch of harmonic distortion from a Culture Vulture. We also close-mic'ed the kit and set up room mics to provide plenty of options for modern production styles and to give a bit of definition. We once again enlisted James Pinfield-Wells on the drums, with production and engineering from the legends that are Jim & Rob Homes.
