DB-33 Tonewheel Organ
There are very few truly unique instrumental sounds in the world of music. Sounds so distinct, so compelling, so immediately identifiable and genuine that you just have to have it. Nothing else will do. "Close" won't do. "Almost" won't cut it. "Approximately" will instantly brand you as a shallow imposter.
One of these really great, unmistakable instrumental sounds is the tonewheel organ, such as the classic Hammond B3. The Hammond B3 was used by many great rock, soul and jazz artists in the 1960's to 1980's. Unforgettable musicians like Stevie Winwood, Jon Lord of Deep Purple, Jimmy Smith and Richard "Groove" Holmes.
Great music, great sound, created on an absolutely great instrument. That's what you want. And that's what DB-33 Tonewheel Organ gives you.
DB-33 Tonewheel Organ is a virtual organ that recreates the sounds and controllability of classic tonewheel organs such as the Hammond B3, and the rotary-speaker cabinets they are often played through. It includes 122 preset sounds plus an extra-realistic convolution rotary cabinet and tube overdrive emulation. The rotary-speaker cabinet can also be used as an effect in its own right on an audio track:
DB-33 is great for a tonewheel organ VST with a correct set of controls and an amped tone cabinet. The CPU usage of DB-33 seems lower than organ vst's usually are. All of the controls on the organ and the cabinet have MIDI learn... right click each control. You only have to load the organ to have both the organ and the cabinet active. Switching between the organ & cabinet interfaces is one click of labeled buttons. The slow/brake/fast lever is animated and works with MIDI cc 1 (mod wheel) by default. You can use the cabinet as a separate plugin. If it's producing some static with the tone, adjust the cabinet's [organ] knob along with [master] volume. [organ] usually ends up pointing straight up to 12:00 or maximum of 1:00 on mine. Master volume on both the organ and cabinet are the same control, so you don't have to manually match them. You can see it all in the demo version. I guess there is no standalone DB-33. It is only VST... no VST3. DB-33 not as interesting as other tonewheel organ VST's. It's great if you can get it in a very discounted deal or part of a larger pack.

Fine sounding instrument, good presets. I bought this under a special offer price, but would have been worth the full price also.

Latest version is 1.2.7, not 1.7 as stated on KVR.
DB-33 from AIR is very good value and sounds very good. I also used VB3, LinnPlug and Native Instruments old plugins but I find this one perfect.
