epicVerb features two different reverberation modes and 6 different stereo early reflection models. There are some standard reverb controls like 'TIME', 'DAMP' or 'PRE-DELAY' as well as reverb tail modulation and detailed control over very first reflection patterns as an option.
It offers different reverb time handling for high and low frequencies as well as a musical sounding EQ section containing two "BootEQ" equalizers and additional high- and low-pass filtering.
PROS: This is my go-to 3rd party verb in all instances during production. The sound is gorgeous, warm & rich, satisfyingly customizable without being complex, definitely epic yes. Free.
CONS: I have problems with it at reload of Cubase 8 Pro (64-bit) projects. Loads all settings as at previous project save, but panel shows all settings at their '0' position until I click on a setting, then the knob jumps to its correct preset position. Not good. Too many instances repeatedly crashed Cubase 8 Pro (64-bit) projects, but am assuming fault is with Steinberg's bridge, not EpicVerb. Still, for me is a PITA.
OVERALL: It's beyond any other free verb I've used in 12 years. Despite my specific issue with Steinberg's bridge in 64-bit Cubase 8 Pro I use it in every project because of its sound, it is what I would expect from a hardware rack, just a beautiful unit. Definitely recommend.
Read ReviewIt's one of the best reverb plugins you can get for free. The interface is very intuitive, there's all adjustments you need and sounds quite nice. Variety of Sound did a really nice job in this plug-in. The best part is that it has a version that supports multicore processors.
