HoRNet ZeroWidth

HoRNet ZeroWidth is an intelligent stereo widener plugin that operates in the Mid/Side (M/S) domain.

The plugin analyses L/R correlation of seven fixed frequency bands in real time, learns the correlation minima of the input material, and automatically applies per-band Side EQ and global Auto Width to widen the stereo image as far as mono compatibility allows.

ZeroWidth reads the audio continuously across the bands 10 kHz, 5 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 1.25 kHz, 625 Hz, 312 Hz, and 156 Hz. The Auto Side EQ engine applies a per-band gain on the Side channel using band-specific correlation targets (higher bands can take aggressive widening, lower bands are kept tight to preserve mono compatibility). The Auto Width knob controls a global Side gain derived from the post-EQ wideband correlation.

The plugin runs in two automatic phases: a learning phase that stores the lowest correlation minimum for each band, and an application phase that computes the final band gains and global width. Manual per-band gain controls (-6 dB to +6 dB) allow individual band overrides; bypassed bands continue to follow the auto value. Processing is performed in the M/S domain with zero samples of latency and no FFT in the audio path, making the plugin suitable for tracking and live monitoring.

ZeroWidth is designed for mixing and mastering engineers who need correlation-aware stereo widening on buses (drum bus, vocal bus, FX bus) or full mixes, without manually tweaking seven EQ bands and without breaking mono compatibility.
