Every sample of audio has a magnitude. Magnitude can be represented as a binary word. A binary word consists of bits.
MBitFun allows you to perform bitwise operations. This changes the binary word, consequently so too the sample's magnitude. This happens to each input sample, therefore you need not introduce delay. Delay is there if you want to perform bitwise operation of current input and delayed input. The logic operators evaluate 1s in its row against input audio, if Delay=zero. Operators evaluate current and delayed input, if Delay>zero. Sidechain input is another source for bitwise operation.
A fun thing to do is to automate the cells of the operator(s). You can make distortion patterns.
