NineStrip is a free, open-source channel strip built on eight hand-picked Airwindows algorithms. The philosophy is radical simplicity, just the controls that actually matter, so you spend less time tweaking and more time mixing:

  • PurestGain — Transparent input and output gain staging.
  • Interstage — Analog transformer conditioning.
  • Channel9 — Console saturation and coloring.
  • Capacitor2 — High and low pass filtering.
  • Baxandall2 — Bass and treble shelf EQ.
  • Parametric — Mid-band surgical EQ.
  • DC Blocker — DC offset removal.
  • Pressure4 — Musical compression.

Each stage is distilled to its essential controls.
Everything is visible at a glance, on one screen, with no hidden pages or menus.

I give it 3 stars because it's not shit, It did not crash my pc, and u can clearly hear the airwindows setup in there but the gui needs some work, the knobhandling is terrible and the reduction meter in the dynamics section keeps flickering and doesn't give you an indication of what the compressor is doing, and the drive from the consol channel9 kicks in later then you apply it. But, overall a nice simple design tho and it has the potential but it's just not there yet :).

Hey hi, i'm the developer of Nine Strip.

The gain reduction metering I'm already looking into :).

Could you tell me more about these 2 things?

  • "the knobhandling is terrible".
  • "the drive from the consol channel9 kicks in later then you apply it".
