Observer_01
Bespoke rhythm generation. Non-linear looping. Atmospheric patterns. Endless possibilities.

Observer_01 is a sequencer that moves away from the standard linear sequencer model. The objective of Observer_01 is to make the discovery of interesting rhythmic relationships simpler for you.

What you'll get with Observer_01:

  • Complex Rhythms: Create patterns that utilize the geometric relationships of different shapes and rotations.
  • Dynamic Effects: Fine tune sounds with a wide variety of effects, including gain, pitch, chance, start, end, fade in, fade out, reverse, retrigger with pitch decay, and spatial panning. Get even more granular by altering these properties for individual collisions between shapes.
  • Free Presets: Experience the full range of Observer_01 with our collection of presets that explore unique approaches to geometric sequencing– designed to get you off the ground in no time.

I've been using Observer_01 for about three months now, and it's genuinely changed how I approach rhythm in my productions. As someone who felt stuck in predictable patterns, the geometric sequencing concept clicked with me immediately.

What I appreciate most is how it encourages happy accidents. Yesterday I was just rotating shapes against each other without much planning and stumbled upon a groove that became the foundation for an entire track. That sense of discovery keeps bringing me back.

The learning curve was steeper than I expected - I spent the first week just figuring out how the collision system worked. But once it clicked, the depth of control became apparent. I particularly enjoy tweaking the chance parameters to add subtle variation to otherwise repetitive patterns.

The presets were helpful for understanding the workflow, though I found myself quickly moving beyond them to create my own patterns. Some of the effects are more useful than others - the spatial panning and retrigger functions get regular use in my projects, while I rarely touch the reverse option.
