VCV Rack

VCV-Rack ist in meinen Augen der Gamechanger in Sachen Virtuel Modular. Über 3000 frei nutzbare Module jeglicher Art. Damit meine ich wirklich jeglicher Art, auch miese, geben Spielraum für Experimente bis die Resourcen Explodieren.!Macht richtig Spaß.

Daneben gibt es noch Premium Module die kostenpflichtig sind. Teilweise sogar sehr wichtige. ZumBeispiel die Hosting Module von VCV. Damit kann man sämtliche forhandene Synthesizer und Effekte in VCV einbinden und als Module benutzen.Auch Vorhandene Modulare Synths. Egal! Das geht bei Hardware Synths oft nicht so einfach.

Ein "must have" für Soundtüftler der Generation "Berliner" und für Leute die immernoch den Sound von Kraftwerk, jeane michele jarre, tangerine Dreames, Klaus Schulze und so weiter Lieben.

Und für Leute die wissen wie man Modulare Synths spielt. Fast alles ist möglich.

I have never was a "modualr-guy", but this giant is really outstanding piece of software. I just got sucked into endless cable playing. But it's so easy to get overwhelmed by thousands of different modules. So, good discipline is a must :).

Verdict:

• Awesome sound quality.
• Awesome debugging possibilities.
• "Dark room" mode.
• Tons of free stuff in library.
• Great community.

I've been using Rack for a year now and I can certify that is not a wasted download. Rack is the culmination of expertise in modular synthesis knowledge compiled into the best modular software. The total amount of modules is above 1,300 if you only count the free ones. Of course there are also commercial modules available for very reasonable prices. The sound quality is excellent, and so is the versatility of the signal routing that is known to set true modular synthesis apart from the rest. I highly recommend Rack.

Amazing (Apart from crashes)

This virtual modular synth is amazing... there are seemingly infinite possibilities. And better yet... IT'S free!!! I would rate this 5 stars, however it crashes pretty much every other time I use it, and when using big modules I experience lag. It is possible to ignore the lagging, however the crashes can become annoying. Despite this, I am soooo thankful to the creator of this software for making it. It is one of my favourite audio applications.

Hora already offer free and commercial modules for VCVRack that are top notch...this new tool will be appreciate for sure. Bravo Raphael.
