Rhythm From Mars

Rhythm From Mars is a sample pack of the Roland Rhythm 700, also known as the TR 700. Released in 1972 (the same year Roland was founded), the Rhythm 700 was one of Roland's a first products--a rare, 3ft tall analog rhythm box.

Samples From Mars recorded the patterns from the Rhythm 700 through an API preamp and SSL gate to tape, then isolated the individual drum samples. The kicks were also slowed down and processed through a Moog lowpass filter to get a deeper sound.

The drums were then recorded into an Emu SP-1200, re-pitched, and recorded back to tape. Finally, some samples were saturated through a Roland Re-201 Space Echo.

The sample pack includes individual drum samples, loops of the original drum patterns from the Rhythm 700, and instruments made from the pitched drum samples.

The sample pack comes with all of the following formats:

WAV / Loops Contents:

• 1026 total unique 24-bit WAV one-hits.
• 46 Rhythm 700 samples recorded to tape.
• 4 x 16 hit WAV drum kits.
• 980 SP-1200 x Rhythm 700 samples re-pitched on tape.
• 54 original pattern loops from the Rhythm 700.
• Patterns come both with and without kicks.
• Patterns available as WAV, REX 2, or Apple Loops.

• 2 x fully mapped Ableton Drum Racks containing all drum hits.
• 4 x chromatically mapped melodic Ableton keyboards.
• 54 x audio clips containing original Rhythm 700 patterns.
