Tokyo Scoring Solo Strings is a virtual instrument collection featuring five solo performers (Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, and Contrabass). It captures the precise, agile, and emotionally expressive sound characteristic of Japan's world-renowned session musicians, led by performer Koichiro Muroya himself, along with cellist Masami Horisawa and contrabassist Jun Saito. Recorded at the legendary Sound City studio, this library functions perfectly as first-chair performers, featured soloists, or a complete string quintet. It is an ideal companion to the Tokyo Scoring Strings ensemble library but also excels as a powerful standalone tool.

At the core of the library is an industry-leading legato system and groundbreaking "Lookahead" technology. This intelligent engine anticipates articulations and transitions, allowing composers to write complex, realistic passages directly on a DAW's grid with minimal programming. For users who demand deep customization, the Total Articulation Control Technology (TACT) v3 provides extensive control. The instrument also includes three distinct microphone patches: the hand-sculpted "Anima Mix" for a production-ready sound, a crisp "Close Pair" for a dry, upfront tone, and a "Mic Mixer" for blending four individual microphone positions.

Features:

  • Five Solo Instruments: Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, and Contrabass.
  • World-Class Performers: Featuring Koichiro Muroya (Vln I, Vln II, Vla), Masami Horisawa (Cello), and Jun Saito (Contrabass).
  • Groundbreaking Legato Engine: Powered by a proprietary "Spectral Fusion System" for stunningly realistic, consistent, and smooth transitions.
  • Multiple Legato Types: Includes three distinct legato types (Bowed, Slurred, Marcato) and two portamento types (Lyrical, Slur) to cover a vast range of playing styles.
  • Intelligent Lookahead Mode: Allows for writing realistic parts directly on the grid, as the engine intelligently selects the correct articulations and transitions with zero latency issues (a free delay compensator plugin is included to sync with your DAW).
  • Comprehensive Articulations: A complete set of articulations including Arco (Sustain) with multiple vibrato levels, Staccato, Staccatissimo, Spiccato, Pizzicato, Tremolo, Trills (half and whole tone), Sforzando, and Decrescendo.
  • Multiple Mic Mixes: Includes 3 mic patches: the production-ready Anima Mix, a dry Close Pair, and a comprehensive Mic Mixer with 4 positions (Close Pair, Surround, Side, Back).
  • Deep Dynamics: Features up to five dynamic layers (pp to ff) per articulation for seamless and expressive dynamic movement.
  • CONSOLE FX Rack: Includes a modular FX rack and mixer with over 40 effects (EQs, compressors, reverbs, delays) to sculpt your sound.
  • Total Articulation Control Technology (TACT): A deep system for customizing keyswitches, MIDI CCs, and velocity mapping to fit your personal workflow.
