The VSTplug reverb is an older, very simple algorithm that is rarely left in its simple state. Often developers will use the same algorithm and add on to it, but I felt in its simplest form it sounds better.

Your best experience with it might be to use it as merely a source of presence. Leave the other knobs alone and raise both mix and width, should you want faux stereo. This also serves as a mono to stereo algo to a degree.
