Interesting delay plugin, which differs form most other ones. A 15 tap delay with a lot of separately adjustable features for each tap! So rather no plug and play plugin, but a paradise for tweakers and delay sound freaks.

The global parameters are limited to Mix, Output and Spatial (Binaural), while each channel/tap offers Time (0 - 4999ms), Gain, Pan, Feedback, Mod Rate, Mod Depth (nice for some flexible phasing or chorusing, even more, if combined with additional, differently adjusted taps), Auto Pan, Pitch (o, -8, +8, if activated with Shimmer option too), Type (Reserve, Vintage), Series (Chain instead of parallel routing), Phase Invert.

With all these options almost endless combinations are possible, so something for players, who really look for different and more complex delay and modulation sounds, which more "normal" delays do not offer.

The presets allow a first impression of the capabilities, but of course a lot more also is possible. The taps can be activated separately, so you can also use a single tap alone too, which I personally recommended first, to discover, what all the controls do and how the results sound and afterwards you can better adjust more complex multi-tap delays.

The delays sound nicely musically, not too sterile or too digitally. I personally am not the biggest delay fan, but I must admit, this plugin offers nice and creative results, if someone looks for more unique and more complex delay sounds between adding some decent dimensionality and very complex, cinematic or experimental soundscapes.

A very unique "boutique" delay, I personally do not know a comparable other one. Fair price too.

Graphomania of admin PureDude Dreamer – who stay behind Pg development and creates about half of the content (most of it is just a rant) on only Plugdata support channel on Discord — and his thinking that when Plugdata is free, you have to look at him as a breadwinner — made Plugdata only support channel very unfortunate. Same as Porres is doing in PureData.

It became a private room where a small local gang is jerking each other off.

I got blocked when I pointed it out And I was polite - while they were literaly harassing guy commenting before me.. If I were to rely on Plugdata, I would be in trouble.

TLDR: An environment where the main contributors (80%)—some of them apparently neurotic—of only support and discussion channel are also admins and related to development, can't work.

Derived Drive.
(same nick on Discord)

PS: Unlike PureDudes, we pay for software and refuse to lick someone boots just because they provide free soft.

PPS: I gave 5 stars because I may be biased.
In my eyes it deserves less than 1 star (such software should even be forbidden to operate), it is an apartheid-like environment, refusing to explore new horizons in algorithms and coding in music.

If AIs take over in music, these subjugating/submission-forcing PureDudes (like Porres, Dreamer) should be blamed first.

Shame of music production.

Looks good. Except no Loop button (I can see) rules it out for me as a drum synth. I don't do drum samples, I make sound from Osc forms, so looping is needed (even if only using embedded loop settings) :-).

RipplerX

(Not a review).

I saw demo vid of RipplerX on Synth Anatomy, and it looks like a very thoughtful physical modeling synth.

Considering that Sculpture is locked into the Logic/MainStage realm; and Objekt is locked into Reason; two powerhouse physical modelers are proprietary. Other physical modelers like AAS Chromaphone or String Studio are kind of specific. Pianoteq is even more specific-- but fortunately, has branched out quite a bit from its original remit.

More experimental physical modeling a la the old school Yamaha VL1, are kind of hard to find-- particularly with the option to create brass & woodwinds. A few rare & wonderful exceptions exist in the Reaktor world, especially from a developer called Chet Singer.

RipperX was available for a while in beta (?), and behind the scenes was being shopped. Those efforts were successful, so we'll have to wait and see when/if the commercial version sees the light of day. Looking forward.

SMOOTH

Version reviewed: 1.2.1 on Mac

SMOOTH is a very interesting professional resonance suppressor for macOS and Windows with many usefull functions and a highly intuitive interface with a lot going on under the hood. It's M/S capabilities turned out to be very effective in precisely smoothing out harsh resonances from center-panned sources, a feature I was missing in many other resonance suppressors. Mid and side can be processed fully independent, which makes KERN-SMOOTH an ideal tool for mix & mastering purposes.

Response from kernaudioio from KERN audio on March 27th, 2026

thank you so much for the detailed review. the M/S processing was one of the things i spent the most time on during development, so hearing it's filling a gap for you is really satisfying. mastering use cases like that are exactly what i had in mind.

will keep on updating and improving, thanks mate.

Great bundle, specially the 76. Only issue is that these plugins can lock up the graphic animations in the DAW at times.
