A good choice for lo-fi and modulation effects. The tape stop effect is decent, but would recommend the Wavesfactory Cassette Transport if you need more control over the tape stop sound.

Nice interface, good FX selection (chorus, delay, reverb, bitcrusher), my go-to for pads and leads. Where it falls down is bass sounds imo, lacking a square waveform.

Does exactly what you need it to (analyse frequencies accurately and in real time). I like using it to see what saturation and exciter plugins are doing to the signal.

Still the gold standard for a free synth VST. Would definitely recommend to learn how to program synths. I'm very sad so I used the colour editor to make it look like a Nord Lead.

Really clean and easy to use interface. I particularly like the sample editing functions. Would recommend if you need a free (drum) sampler VST.

Can do a great lo-fi drum sound. My issues: sometimes the UI doesn't register changes in the parameters; you can't downsize the UI.

Not a bad plugin, but TAL Chorus LX by Togu Audio Line is just as easy to use and has more settings. This is very subtle, even on higher mix settings, though it works well as a widener.

It's a decent plugin by itself. Crunchy, analog-style saturation that can be applied to either the high or low end. What annoys me is the absolutely gigantic installer (over 100MB). Instead of just giving you the .dll, you have to go through and untick every limited demo they try to give you as well. Use Klevgrand FreeAMP or SGA1566 instead.

Nice little binaural reverb VST. Great if you just want to stick a bit of reverb on a track without a lot of fuss. My only real issue is that the reverb sound is a bit dark - find myself reaching for Reverb SOLO by Acon Digital instead if I need a brighter sound.

The best free reverb VST. If you're looking for something to stick on your reverb send to glue the entire track together, this is it. Millisecond indicators are very helpful for syncing it to the track's BPM.
