Kia Ora!

emptyvessel - a Scotsman who finally found the place he belonged, on the South Island of Aotearoa/New Zealand, living in a small, old wooden house next to the harbour in Dunedin, Otago. Programming and using synths since the 80s, my first being a Yamaha DX21 & Siel Opera6, a nice combo of quirky Italian analogue poly and classic crunchy FM which really triggered a lifelong love of exploring deep, digital synthesis.

I consult to and create factory presets & sound content for a range of clients including:

Focusrite/Novation, Arturia, Unfiltered Audio, Kilohearts, Rhizomatic, Tritik, Xils, TAL, AEModular.

Obsessed with imperfection and tiny details that, likely, nobody hears (or possibly cares about) I use analog tape, vintage samplers and some carefully selected software tools to introduce dust, texture, life, breath and decay into the sounds. I create dusty, dark, intricate, melancholic, living sounds useful in a range of musical genres and soundtrack work.

For professional, quality presets/samples to deadline for your product or bespoke sounds for your soundtrack work at reasonable rates please use the contact form to get in touch.

Synergy for BYOME

An excellent and diverse pack of sounds for BYOME. You could probably make entire tracks using just a sinewave and this pack! One tip: have fun ignoring the advice for which kinds of sounds to use these on. Stick your drums in the "pads" sounds and your long notes through the "short notes" sounds. Gorgeous, dusty, and inspiring.
