In 2020, Pfundstein Audio Plugins proudly released their first version of the unique-sounding BassLine Buster Std 8-String virtual instrument. Still today, the niche of unique and special bass instruments is the main driver of the company. According to Pfundstein Audio Plugins, they have created the very first and still the best virtual 8-string bass plug-in with a great set of features and humanization. 8-string bass guitars have string pairs just like the better-known 12-string guitars...

Our goal is to give you an unique bass sound for your music production. Sure, there are many good virtual bass plug-ins out there. But we're the first and only with an octaved 8-string. A new, unique sound, that no other plug-in can give you.

Also check-out their other plug-ins at KVRaudio or at https://pfundstein-audio-plugins.de.

BassLine handcrafted basses

These two basses do a really good job of covering a lot of the heavier funk and rock styles (although I have used them for Acoustic tunes and Jazz too!) Both have a bright crisp sound, and enough variety of tones to avoid obvious repetition from note to note. They both seem to respond well to good playing technique by a skilled keyboardist. Add a good clean or semi-clean amp sim for bass, and they really sound natural and full in a mix. Excellent plugins.

I just got this Bass Vst, and already I am VERY impressed! You can get a number of bright, clear, natural tones out of it. Raise the humanize a bit, use a bit of vibrato here and there, and you can produce an utterly convincing bass performance. I've been playing bass and keyboards as a full time pro for 35 years, and I don't impress easily. But this is a steal at this price! So natural.

This is a joke. And the author's math needs work. You'd be far better off using that dollar for something worthwhile, like slipping it into a stripper's shorts. Do yourself a favor, save the $1 and record "hey!" yourself.

No issues with version 1.1.8 and Windows 10 using latest Cubase. Simple but good sounding 8-String ... is fantastic but it depends on the production or style of music. I've also the "BassLine handcrafted basses" with an 4-String. The 4-String is more "flexible" regarding different styles I think.

Update from my previous here below comment:

Now with V 1.2.2 it looks better. the up/down strike is fine. Finger's playing feel does not really match with real play or other plugins makers. it is too closed than plektrum sound and the attack button behaves like a synth not a bass.

Suggested improvement:

add a tone and volume button.

Position playing ie from bridge to neck.

insert hammer pop slap fretless.

there could also be other pickups tone sounds ie Kent Armstrong, Bartolini, Seymour Duncan, Alembic, MEC and EMG and many others ones with active and passive options and pu mix option.

Sound block reduction while changing the current sound options.

I am using currently only the DI selection.

Thanks again for your work.

I could not have the chance to make a full test. It bugs as soon I try to modify the basic sound. I am using it with FL Studio latest version under W8.1 64-bit.
