Hi Andy. Like i said in the other thread it also crashed Live 8. The initial crash seems have messed up live good and proper and i've tried 3 different versions; 7.0.15, 7.0.16 and 8.01. Works fine in cantabile anyway. And i can sequence it with my mpc so i can use it for now until the live issue is resolved.

hmmm, it is tough when only one person has the problem, do you have asio4all installed could you see if that makes a difference?

One thing is your VST plug folder which live sees inside the 'program files' structure? I know that that has caused problems in the past because there are some security restrictions in Vista which can prevent files being written, and BM needs to write the files when first opened. If you can try moving it outside of there to see if that helps, will live allow multiple vst folders?

Yes it is. I think you can place vsts anywhere on your hd and create shortcuts that you place in the vst folder so i'll try that. I tried the asio4all driver and the same thing happened; serious program error dialog box and Live disappeared in a cloud of smoke.Astralp wrote:One thing is your VST plug folder which live sees inside the 'program files' structure? No i wanted to try the plugin first as i'm going to create a partition for audio and put the samples on there. Will that prevent it from loading? I tried placing the BM folder outside of live but he shortcut didn't show up in Live. Thought i read it could be done...Astralp wrote:just to be sure as well you did install the samples for the full version?

yes not installing the samples would cause crashes, they are an essential part of the plug, they are installed separately so you can place them anywhere, the path is stored in a text file at the root of C:\HGSounds_Black_Magic.txt by the installer
You can always reinstall them again, but BM won't work without them. BM Lite is different in that respect as the samples are alongside the VST plug.

I have no problems on Live 7.0.14. Maybe reinstalling Live would help.

It's looking good. Just installed the samples and opened it in live. Had it running for about half an hour with no issues.
