It would be easy enough to add this to the MIDI processing once I've figured out how it can intergrate into the existing setup. Something to consider for after the contest.brok landers wrote:and the sustain pedal isn't working here.

Absolutely! I don't plan to change the 'streamlined' character of Deducktion's design - any enhancements will be about refining the existing feature set rather than adding new ones.SparkySpark wrote:I read Brok's suggestions with interest. However, the value of this synth lies a lot in the relatively few controls (in true Dead Duck style!![]()
).
Thus, any improvements should be weighed against its appealing limitations.

Congratulations for this awesome synth. I would also like the sustain pedal to be implemented. I see a problem since the LFO only positively affects the oscillators. It should oscillate between positive and negative successively.

Thanks! I'm planning to add some support for sustain after the contest is over.Iu Gob wrote:Congratulations for this awesome synth. I would also like the sustain pedal to be implemented.
By default the LFOs provide bipolar modulation between -0.5 and +0.5 so any oscillator modulation should be centered on their actual values as you have described. Why do you think they provide only positive modulation?Iu Gob wrote: I see a problem since the LFO only positively affects the oscillators. But the LFO of your great synth does not perform the full wave from the positive value to the negative opposite. It is the standard in the LFO. I think it's more natural.

Deducktion's modulation system requires modulation sources to operate with the range of -1 to +1. The LFO is designed to provide a modulation range that can be zero-centred (bipolar), fully-positive, fully-negative, or some range in between. These variations are necessary because different modulation targets have different requirements. For example, pitch modulation works best with a bipolar modulator so that the pitch varies around its actual value. On the other hand it can be more convenient to use a fully-positive range (i.e. 0 to 1) with something like volume where knowing that the modulated value won't go below zero can be useful.Iu Gob wrote:But the LFO of your great synth does not perform the full wave from the positive value to the negative opposite. To accommodate this the LFO is limited to a maximum range of 1 which can be adjusted between the limits of -1 and +1. This means that the zero-centred (bipolar) range must be -0.5 to +0.5 so that when offset in either direction it stays within the overall limits of -1 to +1 while maintaining a consistent modulation range.

Deducktion has been updated to 1.0.2.
This fixes a problem with glide where notes played in glide-mode wouldn't always start from where the previous note has 'glided to'.

Made a couple of color corrections and reuploaded my theme. Also added some more presets.
Now separate downloads for skin and patches (easier to update):
