I am going out there to see him (4 hour drive) toward the end of this month. We didnt get a chance in June to get his lil cymbals & minitoms(?) so I will definately record those this time. Also I might rerecord the cymbals in general with some better overheads (only had the nt1 and a 57 with me last time).
Also, I did distance miking on the snare with the nt1 while using the sm57 close up. I only used the 57 samples for this kit, but I'm thinking of mixing the 2 to give the snare some more weight.
