Confirmed.
I'm not very experienced with MIDI function inside keyboards, never had a synth and I had in my life only the Radium 49 as MIDI controller, but here it is on my keys:
- near Level/ Data Entry slider I have a button named MIDI/ select
- after pushing it I can acces velocity function by pressing key C1 (for piano players is C1, for thers I think they call it C4... anyway, the middle C, ).
- now you can choose a a value from 0 to ??? ... 9 by pressing C2 (aka C5) to Bb2 (aka Bb5).
Hope that helps in a way.

Hi synthyboy
Just did a quick test with my M-AUDIO AXIOM 49.
Recorded a short sequence using different levels of pressure on the keys, really hard, normal playing and as light as possible.
Opened up the "Part" in the "List Editor".
I could then see the values.
Really hard playing = 127
Normal playing = 80 - 100
Extremely light playing = 5
All this was done using the M-AUDIO driver for Windows XP from the M-AUDIO web site.
I made NO changes to MU.LAB at all.
So I guess you had better read the keyboard manual and try the M-AUDIO drivers for your actual keyboard and operating system.
MU.LAB needs no modification you just need to get to know the limitations/workings of your actual keyboard.
Hope this helps.
(the above test was done on M2.7 and M3 3.0.14 - the results were the same)

Not, you're wrong, I'm asking about my midi-keyb + Mu lab,pljones wrote:You're asking about your keyboard, not MU.LAB, really.synthyboy wrote:All my q's only around how to use new soft, because I'm new user Mu lab and trying to understand HOW IT WORKS
I'm trying to explain this situation, A t first when I put my keyb into Mu, FL, DS2 and Ableton 6 I've got a next result
-Mu Lab - have found fast my Keyb as USB plug, but plays much quieter
- FL - have found fast my Keyb as USB plug, plays ok from start
- DS 2 - have found fast my Keyb as USB plug, plays ok from start
- Ableton have not found from start, it possible yhis my fault, but I don't care about this prog, I don't like it and not going to use it.
And I was there 50 % objective, but WHEN I tried to instal M-Audio keyb DRVs
I've got everything ok

What does this mean in terms of the velocity response for these programs? If they ignore MIDI velocity, maybe you consider that "OK". I'd consider it broken.synthyboy wrote:- FL - have found fast my Keyb as USB plug, plays ok from start

They are NOT ignored Midi velocity response, ok means - mouse - 10, midi-keyb 10, mouse -127, midi-keyb -127pljones wrote:What does this mean in terms of the velocity response for these programs? If they ignore MIDI velocity, maybe you consider that "OK". I'd consider it broken.

Just for your info: MU.LAB does not do anything special with the incoming velocities. They're played as they come in. When comparing 'loudness' in 2 different apps, then make sure you use the exact same softsynth and make sure the audio signal path is flat. In MU.LAB when you plugin a synth in a fresh rack, it's output is not affected, i.e. gain is at 0dB.

FL have an option to use velocity or not. Also have the option to link velocity to other parameters.
That can be done also from keyboard settings.
Also synthyboy, I'm not a guitarist
I'm actually a trumpet player.
I learned guitar first as a kid because I thought that will make me look cool in front of the girls.

Jo, this problem is gone when I installed drv's, I just thaught, if theay are palys 1 to 1, why Mu not plays 1 to 1. That was my fault, not a bug,okmutools wrote:Just for your info: MU.LAB does not do anything special with the incoming velocities. They're played as they come in. I just asking because I thought it "may be" a bug ... and just report here

sorohanro, i want to catch up. So you've made 3 packs now:
-> Rock Pack
-> Recorder
-> Trumpet
Right?
The Rock Pack is M3.
Are the Recorder and Trumpet packs also made for/with M3?
I'm asking because the big advantage of M3 preset packs is that they can be put anywhere on the computer as they use relative sample paths.
Once they're all M3 i would like to make them available via MUTOOLS.com, if that's ok for you.
Note that, if you want, you can add your info/credits/copyright to a MuSynth/MUX patch via the MuSynth/MUX Deep Editor -> Options -> Set Preset Info Text.

There is the Bamboo pack also.mutools wrote:sorohanro, i want to catch up. So you've made 3 packs now:

Rock Pack is M3, all the rest are M2. I'll rework on all keeping in mind all the looping, crossfading and multi layering. Probably they will get a bit bigger now that can be put anywhere in the computer.
